Keep Edmonds Affordable campaign conducting town hall Oct. 21

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Keep Edmonds Affordable campaign will host a town hall on October 21 from noon to 1 p. m. at the Edmonds Library to oppose a $14. 5 million property tax levy proposed by the city. Diane Buckshnis, a former Edmonds City Councilmember, and Jim Ogonowski, a retired Boeing executive, will explain municipal budgeting and the city's financial management.

The hybrid format allows for in-person attendance at the library or virtual participation through Google Meeting, without requiring a Google account. This initiative aims to inform voters and engage them in discussions about local taxation and budget allocation. The campaign highlights concerns over rising property taxes and their impact on community affordability. Local residents are encouraged to attend and voice their opinions on this significant financial issue. The event reflects ongoing tensions regarding fiscal policy in Edmonds.
