Executive Director Kathy Liu leaving Edmonds Center for the Arts
Kathy Liu will step down as Executive Director of the Edmonds Center for the Arts on Nov. 14, having led the organization for two years. Under her guidance, ECA strengthened its community engagement and artistic vision, positioning itself for future growth. Liu expressed her gratitude to the Edmonds community, stating, "Part of my heart will remain here. " The Edmonds Public Facilities District Board plans to appoint a task force to recommend interim leadership while considering a permanent replacement.
Liu's next role will be at Lincoln Center Theater in New York, where she rejoins former colleagues. The ECA Board praised her thoughtful leadership and significant contributions during her tenure. Liu succeeded Joe McIalwain, the founding Executive Director, who concluded his 17-year tenure in August 2023. This leadership transition may influence ECA's strategic planning and continued innovation in the arts sector.
