Edmonds Food Bank invites community to an open house Oct. 11

Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds Food Bank will host an open house on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 2-4 p. m. , inviting residents to tour the facility and assist in food preparation. Attendees can also learn about "Thrive Together," a campaign to secure funding for a new food bank building, which is essential given the rising food insecurity in the area.

The food bank is currently collecting holiday food items, such as canned pumpkin and macaroni and cheese, as well as new toys for its annual Toy Shop program for children ages 0-9. A drive-through option for food donations will be available for those who prefer not to enter the building. Staff will provide information on how community members can participate in these initiatives. The open house serves as a vital opportunity to engage the community in supporting local families in need. For more information, visit the Edmonds Food Bank's website or follow them on social media.

The event is free and aims to foster a sense of community involvement and support.
