The Run to Work fundraiser will occur on Saturday, October 11, at 5 p. m. at Brigid’s Bottleshop, supporting Work Opportunities, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting people with disabilities in securing employment. This year’s event will feature live music from the ‘80s band Nikki and the Fast Times, along with food, raffle prizes, and a silent auction, fostering community engagement. Tickets are priced at $20 in advance and $30 at the door, with free entry for kids.

The event has grown significantly since its inception, reflecting the increasing support for individuals with disabilities in the Edmonds area. Local businesses, including Brigid’s Bottleshop and Fifth Avenue Animal Hospital, have partnered to enhance the fundraising efforts. The involvement of the Mariner Moose adds a fun element, encouraging attendance. This fundraiser continues the vision of the Edmonds School District Special Education Parents Group, which began over 60 years ago, to integrate individuals with disabilities into the workforce.
