Hope is Brewing breakfast raises nearly 200K for VOAWW projects

The Volunteers of America Western Washington (VOAWW) raised over $190,000 at its annual Hope is Brewing breakfast, attracting hundreds of supporters. The funds will enhance a variety of community initiatives, including food banks, early learning, and behavioral health services. Attendees celebrated the nearing completion of the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center, a long-awaited $26. 5 million project designed to be a comprehensive hub for community services. Brian Smith, President and CEO of VOAWW, described the center as a multigenerational and multicultural space aimed at empowering local residents.

Located next to Trinity Lutheran Church and School, the 39,000-square-foot facility will open in January and host several nonprofit partners. Smith highlighted the importance of individual contributions and volunteerism in strengthening communities amid challenging times. The breakfast also featured discussions on affordable housing and youth support initiatives. Attendees can continue to support the Hope is Brewing effort through donations.
