Mud Bay will match customer pet food purchases on Neighborhood Pet Store Day, Sept. 27, with donations to local animal welfare organizations. Co-CEO Marisa Wulff noted that shelters are facing significant strain and require food supplies urgently. All purchases made at Mud Bay's 65 locations or online will be matched with equal donations to 20 Pacific Northwest animal welfare partners. Neighborhood Pet Store Day, celebrated annually on the fourth Saturday of September, highlights the importance of supporting small, local businesses.

Founded in 1988 in Olympia, Mud Bay has grown to employ over 500 people across Washington and Oregon. The company's initiative aims to foster community support and give back to local shelters during a challenging time. Wulff stated that the collaboration with customers will create a tangible impact on the communities they serve. This event not only champions local retailers but also strengthens the bond between pet lovers and their local animal welfare organizations.
