Planning Board to review capital facilities, North Hub updates, co-living guidance Sept. 24
The Edmonds Planning Board will hold a meeting on September 24 to review critical items affecting local development. A key focus will be the proposed Capital Facilities Plan and Capital Improvement Program for 2026-2031, which incorporates elements from the recently adopted 2024 Transportation Plan. The board will also examine an amendment to permit co-living in multi-family zones with six or more units, aligning with HB 1998 requirements. Community concerns regarding access and environmental impacts will lead to discussions on modifying the North Bowl Hub. Options include reducing or removing parcels from the hub and rezoning them to lower-density residential areas.
The meeting starts at 7 p. m. in the Brackett Room of Edmonds City Hall, with a Zoom link provided for online attendance. This review process is crucial as it will shape local zoning regulations and infrastructure planning. Recommendations from the board will be submitted to the City Council for further deliberation on October 8.
