The blockage, which occurred on September 11, was initially difficult for city public works crews to clear. However, by Monday, the sewer department successfully removed the obstruction, attributed to cleaning and baby wipes. City spokesperson Neil Neroutsus confirmed that ongoing monitoring will involve camera inspections to ensure the blockage does not return. The city is committed to addressing any future issues that may arise, utilizing resources from both utility and general funds.

This situation highlights the importance of proper disposal practices among residents to prevent similar incidents. The Frances Anderson Center is a key community facility, and its uninterrupted operation is vital for local services.
