Six months after devastating crash, Caravan Kebab to host grand reopening Sept. 19-21

Caravan Kebab, located at 9711 Firdale Ave. , will reopen from September 19-21 after being closed for six months due to a crash caused by a suspected DUI driver. The accident severely damaged the restaurant's kitchen, leading to the loss of vital equipment and forcing the owner to seek community support through a GoFundMe campaign. Owner Shahzad Raja expressed gratitude for the overwhelming generosity, stating that without it, the restaurant might have closed permanently. Caravan Kebab is celebrated for its commitment to using fresh, hand-picked ingredients and Halal-certified meats, catering to various dietary preferences, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

A special dinner for contributors will be held on September 18 to thank supporters. The reopening will also feature a new lunch buffet service, expanding the dining options. The restaurant’s hours will be lunch from 11 a. m. to 2 p.
