The Edmonds School District will continue its after-school Pungmul Program for students in grades 6-12 during the 2025-26 school year. This program focuses on traditional Korean folk music, requiring no prior musical experience. Students will learn to play traditional instruments such as the janggu, buk, kkwaenggwari, and jing, while also exploring the cultural significance of the music. Meetings occur twice weekly at Mountlake Terrace High School, and participants can showcase their skills at school assemblies and community festivals. This initiative not only promotes artistic expression but also fosters appreciation for cultural diversity in the community.
