Edmonds Floretum Garden Club to host program on climate adapted gardens Sept. 15

The Edmonds Floretum Garden Club announces a program titled “Futurescapes: Climate Adapted Gardens” scheduled for September 15 at Edmonds City Hall. Naomi Goodman, the owner of Seattle-based Firecracker, will share insights on designing gardens that foster wildlife and cater to human inhabitants' aesthetic and functional needs. Goodman’s credentials include an associate degree in horticulture and landscape design from Edmonds College, along with a bachelor’s in art history and a master’s in urban planning. Attendees will discover locally available materials and innovative waste reduction techniques for garden creation. The meeting will open its doors at 10 a.

m. , with the main program set to run from 10:30 a. m. to 12:30 p. m.

This initiative reflects a growing local interest in sustainable gardening practices. The program aims to educate residents on environmental stewardship through gardening. Community involvement is crucial in addressing climate change impacts at the local level.
