American Legion Post 66 and VFW Post 8870 donated over $1,000 and 200 pounds of food to the Edmonds Food Bank on July 19 during an event at the Wilcox Construction Red Barn. In addition to food, the drive collected 200 pounds of personal hygiene items for veterans through Lynnwood Heroes Café. "We greatly appreciate this amazing support from our local veteran organizations," stated Casey Davis, Executive Director of the Edmonds Food Bank. The collaboration with Wilcox Construction ensured a convenient location for community members to contribute. Future events are planned by both posts to further assist veterans, potentially including clothing drives and additional food collections.

Donations to the Edmonds Food Bank can be made online or in person, emphasizing the ongoing need for community support. The food bank operates Monday to Friday, accepting donations from 9 a. m. to 3 p. m.

Local organizations play a crucial role in addressing the food and hygiene needs of vulnerable populations in Edmonds.
