City to host Comprehensive Safety Action Plan open house Sept. 10

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds will host a virtual open house on September 10 from 6-7 p. m. to discuss its Comprehensive Safety Action Plan designed to reduce crashes and improve safety for all transportation modes. The initiative is supported by a federal grant from the Safe Streets and Roads for All program, which aims to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries. This plan will identify high-crash locations and areas where residents feel unsafe, guiding future safety projects.

Components of the plan include a vision statement, safety analysis, policy development, and public engagement. The city emphasizes the importance of community input in shaping the plan and securing further federal funding for safety enhancements. A presentation will outline the plan's objectives, and city staff will be on hand to answer questions. Work on the plan commenced in May 2025, with completion anticipated in early 2026. For more information, residents can contact Bertrand Hauss at 425-771-0220 or bertrand.
