Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds School District Board plans to review school boundary policy changes during its meeting on September 9. Currently, no specific boundary changes are under consideration, but the board is preparing for the opening of a new middle school and the shift of sixth graders to middle school. The agenda includes a second reading for a policy addressing school attendance areas and potential rebalancing of elementary enrollments. Additionally, the board will discuss revisions to the Transitional Bilingual Instructional Program and the selection of instructional materials. These revisions are necessary to comply with Senate Bill 5462, which mandates curriculum policy updates by October 1.

The meeting will commence at 6:30 p. m. at the district’s Educational Service Center in Lynnwood. It will also be available for livestream viewing on the district’s website. This review process reflects the board's commitment to adapting educational policies in response to new legislative requirements.
