Scouting project supports Edmonds Memorial Cemetery
Boy Scout Troop 312 revitalized Edmonds Memorial Cemetery by repainting hand railings, led by senior Lennox Norenberg. The initiative involved about 25 scouts and community members working together for six days. Norenberg organized the project to fulfill requirements for his Eagle Scout certification, overseeing logistics such as scheduling and supplies. The City of Edmonds provided paint, while Norenberg purchased additional cleaning materials. He expressed gratitude for the support from family and friends, stating, "I’m so glad I could complete this project with the help of my family and friends.
" Founded in 1891 on land donated by Thomas E. White, Edmonds Memorial Cemetery is self-sustaining through its sales and services. Norenberg's community service exemplifies the values fostered in scouting, including leadership and civic responsibility. This project not only enhanced the cemetery's appearance but also strengthened community ties.
