Edmonds, WALocal News

The 2025 prep football season kicks off on Sept. 5, featuring all four teams from the Edmonds School District. The Mountlake Terrace Hawks are determined to extend their success, having achieved three consecutive winning seasons under Coach Archie Malloy. The team features 16 seniors, including key players like Mason Wilson and Nate Brown, who are expected to lead the charge in their opener against Cascade. Meanwhile, the Meadowdale Mavericks are looking to improve after a challenging record of 8-27 over the last four seasons.

Coach Antwoine Gamble believes the program has turned a corner, as evidenced by a significant increase in participation, with 100 players on the roster. This surge reflects a renewed passion for football within the community. The Mavericks plan to emphasize their ground game, led by running back Caden Rivera. Both teams will aim to make a positive impact in their respective season openers, setting the stage for a competitive season.
