Get fired up at Mountlake Terrace hot sauce festival Aug. 23

Mountlake Terrace will host the inaugural Get Sauced! Hot Sauce & More Festival on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 10 a. m. to 4 p.

m. at the Town Center Lots and Mountlake Church. Regional vendors will offer free samples of hot sauces inspired by cuisines from Asia, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Co-organizer Sarah Frost highlighted the festival's aim to bring the community together, stating, “This is a great way to get people out talking to their neighbors. ” In addition to hot sauce tastings, visitors can enjoy food trucks, handmade goods, and a concert by the Mountlake Terrace Jazz Band at 1 p.

m. Admission is free, and well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome. Organizers hope to establish this event as an annual celebration that continues to attract more attendees each year. Frost and Justin Nygard, another organizer, envision the festival growing bigger and better with time.
