The Washington West African Center hosted its third annual Sounds of Africa Festival at Garfield Park in Everett on Saturday, celebrating the richness of African culture. Attendees savored traditional African cuisine while enjoying music and fashion displays. Vendors offered a variety of food, clothing, and arts and crafts, fostering community interaction. The festival serves to promote the Center's vision of a vibrant and socioeconomically healthy West African community in Washington. Joe Christian documented the festivities through his photography.

Last year, the festival attracted over 1,000 visitors, demonstrating its growing significance in the local cultural scene. The event aims to strengthen ties within the community and offer a platform for West African voices. For more information, visit www. wawac. org.
