Free Concert in the Park Aug. 17 features EWHS Wind Symphony and Edmonds Honor Jazz Band

The Edmonds-Woodway High School Wind Symphony and the Edmonds Honor Jazz Ensemble will host a free concert at Edmonds City Park on Sunday, Aug. 17, starting at 3 p. m. Both ensembles, directed by music educator Jake Bergevin, will showcase a diverse program of musical selections. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the outdoor performance comfortably.

The E-W Wind Symphony will present several overtures and marches, while the Edmonds Honor Jazz Band will feature outstanding soloists and selections from the American Popular Song canon. Each group will perform for approximately 30 minutes, with a short intermission between sets. This concert celebrates the dedication of student musicians and aims to enhance community engagement through music. “This event is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the hard work and dedication of these student musicians,” Bergevin remarked. The event underscores the importance of supporting local arts and education initiatives.
