Edmonds, WALocal News

The Edmonds Planning Board will convene on Aug. 13 to discuss proposed amendments to co-living housing codes aimed at providing affordable market-rate rental units. These changes will offer individuals the opportunity to live independently in high-cost areas, which can otherwise be financially challenging. The board will review the initial draft and make a recommendation to the City Council, which will deliberate on the final draft on Oct. 8.

The meeting will be held at 6 p. m. in the Brackett Room of Edmonds City Hall, with remote access available via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Participants can join using the provided meeting ID and passcode. This initiative responds to the growing demand for affordable housing solutions in Edmonds.

Co-living arrangements are seen as a viable option to alleviate housing costs in urban settings. The community will benefit from the board's efforts to enhance housing accessibility as local officials prioritize affordable living solutions.
