Have unwanted medication? Heres a safe and easy way to dispose of it

Edmonds, WALocal News

Washington's Safe Medication Return Program offers free and convenient options for residents to dispose of unwanted medications, including mail-in envelopes and drop-off locations. This initiative aims to reduce the risks of poisoning and environmental hazards associated with improper disposal methods, such as flushing medications or throwing them in the trash. The Edmonds Police Department has replaced its blue drop box with mail-in envelopes available at its Public Safety Complex. Community Transit recently approved a six-year Transit Development Plan to increase bus service and improve connection options for Snohomish County residents. The plan focuses on meeting diverse transit needs, enhancing customer experiences, and transitioning to a zero-emissions fleet.

MED-Project manages the Safe Medication Return Program under the Washington State Department of Health's oversight. The program is funded by drug manufacturers, ensuring no cost to taxpayers. Residents can find disposal locations by entering their ZIP code on the program's website.
