Temporary Lake Ballinger boat launch and beach closure begins Aug. 11

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Mountlake Terrace has announced temporary closures for the Lake Ballinger boat launch, beach, restrooms, and parking lot from August 11-15 and September 2-5 due to construction activities. These closures are part of a larger initiative to improve Ballinger Park, which includes creating a wildlife viewing platform and new pedestrian pathways. The area will reopen between August 16 and September 1, but the staging area will remain closed for the duration of the project. Construction will be limited to weekdays, with some areas tentatively reopening on weekends. The city advises park visitors to access the park through the Mickey Corso Community Clubhouse during the closures.

The project aligns with environmental conservation efforts, as construction must be completed during the summer to protect fish in the lake. The enhancements aim to facilitate better public access and increased walkability throughout the park. Completion of the project is expected by September 6, allowing the majority of the beach to reopen to the public.
