Skull found in Mountlake Terrace gets a facial reconstruction

Edmonds, WALocal News

A human skull found in a Mountlake Terrace home on January 14 has been reconstructed to aid in identifying the deceased. Medical investigator Jane Jorgensen indicated the remains belong to a female, likely between 21 and 65 years old, with a potential death date extending back to 1950. Discovered by a construction worker in a bucket during renovations, the residence was sold in December 2024. Forensic artist Natalie Murry explained her reconstruction methodology, highlighting that visual representations often yield more public tips than text alone. Investigators are in the process of acquiring a DNA profile to upload to CODIS, which may help identify the deceased.

Jorgensen noted that there have been no records of human remains found in the area recently. She urged families of missing persons to take proactive steps, including reporting to law enforcement and considering DNA tests. The investigation remains active, with hundreds of tips being followed up to determine the identity of the remains.
