Free school supplies for families at Mariner Fest Aug. 9

Mariner Fest will take place on August 9 from 11 a. m. to 3 p. m. at Mariner High School in Everett, where families can gather for essential back-to-school supplies.

The Project Girl Mentoring Program, along with Sno-Isle Libraries and the Everett Housing Authority, will distribute free backpacks and school supplies to the first 1,200 registered children, who must be present to receive them. The event, open to all families, especially those from the Mariner area, will also feature over 50 local organizations offering various resources. Attendees can engage in educational entertainment, games, music, and food, creating a festive atmosphere. Organizers aim to alleviate the financial burden of school supplies for families in the community. This initiative highlights the importance of community support in education, especially ahead of the new school year.
