Erika Barnett continues to lead Alex Newman in the Edmonds City Council Position 3 primary election, holding 49% of the vote as of Wednesday. Newman's tally stands at 42%, reflecting a slight decrease in Barnett's lead from earlier results. Joseph Ademofe remains in third place with 9% of the vote. As of now, 11,818 ballots have been counted, which accounts for 37% of the total 31,782 sent to registered voters. Initial election results were released on August 5, with updates provided every weekday at 5 p.

m. The official certification of results will occur on August 19. Voters can expect the general election on November 4, with ballots scheduled to be mailed out on October 16. This election is significant as the top two candidates will advance to the general election, impacting local governance.
