Ted Buehner, a former National Weather Service meteorologist, will present a Zoom webinar on wildfire safety on August 20 from 6-7:30 p. m. The program will address the increasing severity and frequency of wildfires and provide strategies for safeguarding homes and businesses. With over 40 years of experience, Buehner has served as the NWS Seattle Warning Coordination Meteorologist and currently works as a meteorologist for KIRO-FM. Registration is necessary to receive a reminder email containing the Zoom link 24 hours before the event.

For those registering within 24 hours, a confirmation email with the link will be sent immediately. The event will be recorded and made available on the Sno-Isle Libraries YouTube channel for one year, allowing broader community access. This initiative highlights the ongoing challenges posed by climate change and its impact on wildfire behavior. Community members are encouraged to participate to gain valuable insights into wildfire preparedness.
