Dragon Boat Festival draws hundreds to Edmonds Waterfront Center

The Dragon Boat Festival, hosted by the Asian Service Center, drew hundreds to the Edmonds Waterfront Center for a vibrant celebration of Asian culture. Attendees enjoyed performances from Chinese dancers, Taiko drummers, and lion dancers, while the STRUM Ukulele band provided entertainment. Emcee Michael Chong expressed his amazement at the turnout and mentioned ongoing plans to enhance next year’s event. Delicious handmade Asian food was plentiful, ensuring everyone could enjoy seconds. Local sponsors, including Beresford-Booth and Edmonds College, supported the festival, showcasing community involvement.

Participants also had the opportunity to experience dragon boat rides, actively engaging in the festivities. Daniel Johnson from the Edmonds Waterfront Center shared a video capturing the event's highlights. This celebration not only entertained but also fostered cultural appreciation in the community.
