The Edmonds City Council will convene at 6 p. m. on August 4 to deliberate on new sales tax measures aimed at enhancing cultural arts and public safety. This meeting has been moved up a day to avoid a scheduling conflict with the primary election on August 5. Among the agenda items is a proposed update to the street vacation code and a change to the city’s street map near Lunds Gulch Creek.

Mayor Mike Rosen is advocating for the extension of Phil Williams' appointment as acting public works and utilities director until the end of August 2025, as he transitions to a consultant role focusing on the wastewater treatment plant's ongoing challenges. Community members can participate in the meeting in person, view it live online, or join via Zoom. This engagement reflects a growing interest among Edmonds residents in local government affairs.
