Deadline Aug. 5 to return your primary election ballot

Snohomish County residents must return their primary election ballots by August 5 to participate in local governance. The primary features crucial races for county, city, school, and fire districts, with the two candidates who receive the most votes advancing to the November general election. Significant changes to the ballot materials aim to enhance voter experience, including a restructured local voters’ pamphlet and clearer instructions. County Auditor Garth Fell stated that these updates are intended to streamline the voting process. In-person voter services will remain open until 8 p.

m. on election day, providing options for registration updates and ballot replacements. Voters can access 35 official ballot drop boxes around the county, which are open 24 hours a day until the deadline. Ballots may also be mailed back without postage, but must be postmarked by August 5.
