Edmonds home a total loss following Monday night fire
A fire on Monday night destroyed a home in the 900 block of 9th Avenue South in Edmonds, leading to an estimated $400,000 in damage. The blaze was reported shortly after 9:40 p. m. , prompting a swift response from South County Fire. Firefighters arrived within five minutes to find significant fire activity, requiring more than 30 personnel to control the flames within approximately 20 minutes.
Fortunately, all four residents made it out safely, and firefighters rescued two cats from the blaze. The rapid spread of the fire, attributed to the home's wood siding and construction style, contributed to the total loss. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Support 7 and Red Cross volunteers are helping the displaced family find temporary housing. This incident underscores the importance of fire safety and community support in the aftermath of such disasters.
