Edmonds, WALocal News

Tickets for the Edmonds Food Bank’s Empty Bowl fundraiser will go on sale August 1, with the event scheduled for September 25 at the Edmonds Yacht Club. This fundraiser aims to support the food bank’s mission to provide fresh and culturally relevant food to nearly 1,200 households weekly. Guests will enjoy a dinner featuring local soups, bread, and salad, along with a unique handcrafted bowl to take home. Last year’s successful event raised over $175,000, and organizers aim to surpass that total this year. Community members can also contribute by buying raffle tickets for prizes or donating handcrafted bowls.

The food bank served groceries to 4,498 individuals last week, highlighting the urgent need for support. Executive Director Casey Davis stated that community involvement is essential as the food bank faces increasing demand and uncertain funding. The Empty Bowl event serves as a vital opportunity for the community to come together and support those in need.
