Double DD Meats hits 70-year milestone in Mountlake Terrace

Edmonds, WALocal News

Celebrating its 70th anniversary, Double DD Meats remains a beloved destination for meat enthusiasts in Mountlake Terrace. Established by John Dallas and Dan Murray, the shop has evolved through generations, currently led by Kim Nygard and her family. The store has expanded significantly since its early days, now employing 50 people to meet the demands of a loyal customer base. Seasonal items drive sales, with Christmas being particularly busy, seeing the sale of 30,000 pounds of rib roasts. In addition to traditional meats, the shop offers exotic options like camel and bison, showcasing its diverse product range.

The Nygards emphasize customer service as a cornerstone of their success, alongside competitive pricing. They also boast the largest selection of hot sauces for a brick-and-mortar store in the U. S. Customers are urged to avoid visiting on Sundays, as the store is closed, leading to disappointed patrons.
