South County Fire Ford F-150 stolen in Edmonds, recovered in Shoreline

On Friday, a South County Fire Ford F-150 was stolen during a residential fire investigation in Edmonds, prompting police involvement. Firefighters had parked the truck with its emergency lights on while allowing a tow truck access to a damaged vehicle. Within three minutes, an unknown man stole the truck, hitting another emergency vehicle as he left. The police quickly recovered the truck in Shoreline with minor damage and the fuel card missing. South County Fire Chief Bob Eastman condemned the theft, noting the rising incidents targeting emergency service vehicles.

The department plans to implement measures to improve fleet security, including policy changes and training. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no injuries, and a reserve vehicle will ensure continued emergency services. Residents can report any information regarding the suspect to Edmonds police.
