Snohomish County invites public to Climate Resilience Open House July 30

The Snohomish County Department of Conservation & Natural Resources will hold a Climate Resilience Open House on July 30 from 5:30 to 7:30 p. m. at Mariner High School's Student Center in Everett. This event invites residents to learn about climate impacts in the area, including hotter summers and increased flooding, while helping to shape the Communitywide Climate Resiliency Plan. Office of Energy & Sustainability Manager Molly Beeman highlighted that community input is crucial for addressing climate priorities.

Attendees will engage with interactive displays, hands-on activities, and can offer feedback on county climate efforts. Light snacks will be provided, and the event caters to families and youth, with Spanish interpretation available. Those unable to attend in person can participate through an online survey. Participants can also enter a raffle for emergency preparedness items, such as thermal blankets. This open house represents a proactive step by the county to involve the community in local climate initiatives.
