American Legion, VFW posts collecting food and personal hygiene items for veterans July 19

Edmonds American Legion Post 66 and VFW Post 8870 will host a donation drive on July 19 from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. at the Wilcox Construction Red Barn to support local veterans.

Hygiene items like deodorant and toothbrushes, along with cash donations, will be accepted. Post Commander Dan Mullene emphasized the ongoing need for assistance among the over 50,000 veterans in Snohomish County. The collected food will be delivered to the Edmonds Food Bank for distribution. VFW Post Commander Duane Bowman expressed gratitude for community support, referencing a successful drive in April. The event also allows for the disposal of used American flags.
