City of Edmonds seeks residents for procon November levy committees

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is actively seeking residents to participate in pro and con committees for a proposed $14. 5 million levy lid lift measure appearing on the ballot for the November 4 general election. The Edmonds City Council approved the measure during its meeting on July 8, highlighting the community's need for financial support. Each committee, limited to three volunteer members, must consist of current Edmonds residents. Council President Neil Tibbott will work with the council to finalize committee appointments before the county election office's August 5 filing deadline.

Residents interested in serving must email City Clerk Scott Passey with their applications by 5 p. m. on July 14, detailing which committee they wish to join and their stance. Applicants must provide a statement supporting their position and indicate their willingness to act as spokesperson if selected. The emphasis on timely application submissions underscores the importance of community engagement in local governance.

This initiative reflects the city's commitment to involving residents in decision-making processes regarding financial measures.
