Rick Steves announces 1M Challenge Match for Lynnwood Neighborhood Center

Rick Steves announced a $1 million challenge match to boost funding for the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center, a $26. 5 million project that has taken 15 years to develop. This initiative involves Trinity Lutheran Church & Schools, which donated the land, and Volunteers of America Western Washington, who will operate the center. The facility, under construction next to the church, will feature a multipurpose gym, medical and dental clinics, and early learning classrooms, among other amenities. Steves, inspired by the project's progress, called on local philanthropists to join him in supporting the cause, asserting that the center will significantly benefit the community.

Notable partners include Medical Teams International and the Boys & Girls Club, with plans to add more collaborators as the project evolves. Steves emphasized the importance of community investment, stating, “Right now, we need others to step up and help us complete this building campaign. ” The Lynnwood Neighborhood Center aims to serve as a hub for various local organizations, enhancing resources for residents. Donations can be made online or through the mail to support the campaign.
