John Ma has joined North Sound Church in Edmonds as the new associate pastor of discipleship and young families. Originally from Korea, Ma spent his adult years in Ohio, where he met his wife Christine at The Ohio State University. After earning a degree in business finance, he felt a calling to ministry, leading him to pursue a master of divinity at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. For 15 years, Ma served in pastoral roles in central Ohio before moving to the Pacific Northwest with his family. The church emphasized his commitment to service, stating that he finds deep grace, purpose, and joy in church life.

Ma's experience and passion for building community will be instrumental as the church focuses on engaging young families. His arrival comes at a time when many churches are looking to strengthen their connections with younger congregants. The church community anticipates positive growth and outreach under his leadership.
