Help Homage Senior Services through national Meals on Wheels campaign July 10

Edmonds, WALocal News

Homage Senior Services participates in the national Meals on Wheels Day of Giving, "Chip In, Chip Away," on July 10 to combat hunger among older Americans. With nearly 13 million seniors at risk of food insecurity, the organization highlights the growing need for meal support due to rising living costs. In 2024, Homage delivered 248,588 meals to vulnerable seniors, showcasing their extensive reach and commitment. Leah Hammon, director of nutrition, noted that an $80 donation provides seven nutritious meals and includes a wellness check. Juli Rose, interim CEO, warned that looming cuts to government support threaten their ability to meet increasing demands.

Meals on Wheels serves as a critical lifeline for seniors who cannot shop or cook independently. Homage has delivered over 11 million meals in its 50-plus years of service in Snohomish County. The public can contribute to this essential cause by donating at homage. org/chip-in-chip-away, even after the event date.
