Red, white and blue on parade as Edmonds celebrates July 4th
Edmonds celebrated Independence Day with a festive 4th of July parade and fun runs, creating a community atmosphere. Runners of all abilities participated in the 5K and 1K events, with Luca Hooks securing first place in the 5K with a time of 17:19. 36. The children's parade featured families displaying their creativity on the route, while the main parade showcased a mix of performances, including pipe bands and dancers. Local politicians participated, reflecting the significance of this election year, and the crowd enjoyed the dancing horses.
Parade awards recognized entries for various categories, with North Sound Church winning Most Patriotic. Joe Scordino, the Edmonds Citizen of the Year, served as the Parade Grand Marshal. The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce coordinated the festivities, supported by local sponsors such as People’s Bank Edmonds and Windermere Edmonds. This celebration not only fostered community spirit but also highlighted local achievements and engagement.
