Edmonds, WALocal News

Edmonds Mayor Mike Rosen recommended Loi Dawkins for the police chief position, pending City Council confirmation on July 8. Dawkins, who has served as Assistant Police Chief since 2022, has 25 years of law enforcement experience and previously worked with the King County Sheriff's Office. She would officially take over the role on August 1, with a proposed annual salary of $265,890. Rod Sniffen has been acting as interim chief since the retirement of Michelle Bennett in February, highlighting the need for stable leadership. The recommendation aims to maintain continuity in the police department as it navigates community safety challenges.
