House of Wisdom students and tutors of the month for June 2025

The My Neighborhood News Network has partnered with the House of Wisdom to showcase immigrant students and their aspirations. This monthly feature highlights the achievements of students and tutors in the program. Ian, a dedicated seventh grader, dreams of becoming a veterinarian after two years at the House of Wisdom. Luis, a Shoreline Community College student who started attending last Autumn, aims to earn a marine biology degree at the University of Washington. Tutors Hannah and Anna are both pursuing educational degrees at the University of Washington, with Hannah aspiring to be a math teacher and Anna focusing on multilingual education.

Anna has made the UW Dean's list and is actively involved in her community. This initiative not only recognizes individual achievements but also emphasizes the importance of educational support for immigrant youth in the Lynnwood area. The partnership seeks to inspire and uplift local youth by showcasing their dreams and the mentors who guide them.

Gas tax will rise in Washington on July 1
