The Edmonds Driftwood Players’ 14th Annual Festival of Shorts opened at the Wade James Theatre, presenting eight plays under the theme of "CROSSROADS. " This year, the festival received an impressive 635 script submissions, with finalists selected through a blind judging process involving volunteer readers. Each of the plays is performed in two acts, creating a cohesive narrative experience that resonates with the audience. Highlights include "Changing Colors," which explores themes of grief and transformation, and "A Gentle Lift," where sharp dialogue between characters reveals insights into life’s challenges. Audience members participate by evaluating the performances, enhancing the interactive atmosphere of the event.
