How would an Edmonds levy lid lift affect your tax bill? Try our calculator

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is grappling with a $13 million budget shortfall and is considering measures to address it, including staff cuts and program reductions. A proposed levy lid lift could raise approximately $6 million in additional property taxes, likely appearing on the November 4 ballot. To aid residents in understanding the potential impact, My Edmonds News has developed a tax calculator. This tool enables users to input their assessed property values and see how a levy lift could alter their tax bills. The calculator is based on 2025 tax rates and does not account for future changes, such as updated assessed values or new tax laws.

Additionally, property owners will begin paying Regional Fire Authority taxes in 2026, which the calculator incorporates. The calculator uses a benefit charge based on residential square footage, providing a realistic estimate for various home sizes. More details on how these charges are determined are available on the RFA/SCF website.
