Expect an extraordinary low tide in Edmonds Wednesday

Edmonds, WALocal News

On Wednesday, Edmonds will experience its third lowest daytime tide of the year, reaching -3. 89 feet at 11:19 a. m. , as indicated by NOAA tide tables. Joe Scordino, a local resident, pointed out that this extraordinary low tide coincides with the first day of summer break for the Edmonds School District.

This timing is particularly significant as families can engage in low-tide exploration along the shoreline. Low tides expose tide pools and marine life, offering educational opportunities and fostering a connection with nature. The phenomenon is a reminder of the unique coastal environment in Edmonds, attracting both locals and visitors. Scordino's notification encourages community participation in outdoor activities. This event underscores the importance of local natural occurrences for family engagement during summer.

Residents are advised to take advantage of the low tide for a memorable exploration experience.
