This initiative was made possible through a partnership with the Federal Communications Commission, which provided 90% of the funding through the E-Rate program, aimed at improving telecommunications in schools. Neil Schroeder, the Chief Information Officer for the district, stated that the goal was to extend the learning environment to school buses, addressing a critical gap in students' access to resources. While students are restricted from accessing social media like Instagram and TikTok, they can freely use educational websites, ensuring they remain engaged in learning during their commute. The program also introduces security advantages, allowing live monitoring of bus cameras during emergencies and enabling drivers to adjust routes based on traffic or weather conditions.

This initiative not only supports student learning but also enhances safety measures for the district.
