This initiative provides financial assistance to sole proprietors and businesses with 0-30 employees, offering grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, with a potential maximum of $10,000 for qualifying businesses in Des Moines. The program prioritizes businesses that have yet to receive federal or state funds, ensuring that the support complements existing recovery efforts. With backing from various local governments and private entities, the program demonstrates a unified approach to fostering economic recovery in the region. Applications for the grants are available until May 20 and will be evaluated based on merit and need, rather than a first-come, first-served basis.
