In response to a significant storm that left Des Moines residents with substantial debris, the City has decided to extend the hours of the MWA Compost Center. Nearly 2,900 loads of storm-related debris were dropped off within just four days, illustrating the community's need for this service. The Compost Center will now be open on Saturday, August 22, 2020, from 7 a. m. to 2 p.

The City has outlined specific SCRUB guidelines that must be adhered to, including a restriction on trailer types—only single-axle trailers will be permitted.
