Deputy Public Works Director Adam Smith stressed the importance of early preparation, noting that being ready for the first snowfall of the season is crucial for effective snow clearing. This operation is not just a solo effort; it involves collaboration among over 200 equipment operators from various city departments, including Public Works, the WRA, and Parks and Recreation. Together, they are responsible for clearing the city's extensive street network, which spans 2,200 lane miles.
