The City of Des Moines is gearing up for its first Mega SCRUB event of 2024 on April 20, providing residents with a valuable opportunity to dispose of bulk trash, hazardous waste, and electronics at Merle Hay Mall. This event, which runs from 7 a. m. to 1 p. m.

, allows residents to offload items that are difficult to dispose of otherwise, with Public Works Director Jonathan Gano affirming its popularity. New this year is a dedicated electronic recycling component, aimed at ensuring that reusable materials do not end up in landfills.
